Top 5 Recommended Anime to Watch This Winter Season

24 January 2010 View Comments

These days I need to keep my priorities check and in place. So, anime need to keep to a minimum of what best each season might offer and it’s those good one I have chosen to watch. It is a good idea to throw out uninteresting or time consuming ones as they serve no fulfillment. All in all this season is a jackpot with tons of great ones with plenty of splendid anime from action such as Durarara!! to your usual pantsu fetishism Chu Bra.

1] Durarara!!

One of the most praise anime this season with its clean art, cool characters design, jam packed with plenty of action and a sense of mystery that slowly unfold following by  each episode. Durarara!! by no means as your usual anime but give the audience something to guess on what might follow and cliffhanger for those who are eager to know more. I got a write up here and it’s OP & ED.

2] Nodame Cantabile Finale

Nodame is back in its last season with tons of Mukyaa moments & classical musics to make us indulge of how these weird couple might come together and their love for music with a splash or romance in between. I’m not quite sure if there will be any drama release this third season but to be honest I like the drama series more than the anime one of season 1 & 2. Have anyone watch yet?

3] Ladies VS Butlers

If you ever wonder about the art style that look too similar to Kanakon because it is from the same guy Atsushi Ootsuki as he is also the director for Ladies versus Butlers. The anime does serve up a good laugh with tons of flipping pantsu, accidental breast contact, tsundere elements, & cute girls. It might get “out of hand” at times so please use a headphone or be ready on the volume controller.

4] Hanamaru Kindergarten

No! You won’t become a lolicon but you’ll become attach to these chibi kindergartener just like the characters in Kodomo no Jikan. It’s kinda fun to see what these chibi does and how Tsuchida on the left to get his hands on the Miss Yamamoto on the right with a wacky mom of Anzu encouraging her daughter to marry the teacher. It’s promising how the story will develop into.

5] Dance in the Vampire Bund

There have been an uproar on the first episode of this anime because it have no relation to the manga. The use of a TV show to introduce the vampire in to the plot was cheap some may say stupid method. Although, to me I did not read the actual manga so the first episode was my first impression of it. On with the second episode I immediate fell in love with its artistic visual art, excellent voice-acting, interesting characters, and a romantic story with strong elements of myth.

I don’t think Twilight can ever compete with this ravishing vampire who is trap in a pre-pubescent body of hers.

Recommending Ladies and Butlers is … interesting, but I don't suppose there were many choices in the first place. I'm glad you didn't put BakaTest on there as well, though. One moronic show is enough, and at least it's nice to see you recommending the one that's obviously all about fanservice instead of the one that has no real redeeming features.

It's also sad when you have to pad the list with the (so far) disappointing Dance in the Vampire Bund. It's no better than Sora no Woto (which is less braindead and aimless) or Ookami Kakushi (which is less generic and pandering). Maybe Kanagatari will turn out worthwhile and provide us with a worthy fifth option.

Ladies vs butlers is a nice add to my list while BakaTest is a big NO for me. We will see how kanagatari will turn out to be in its latter episode
