Lie To ME
Lie to Me was unexpectedly good and fresh. I discovered it while I stumble upon from a comment on an article I read in Japantimes.co.jp a few days back.
Funny how I came to like this American drama series that based on police and investigation since I don’t like CSI, The Wire, The Shield nor 24. I just can’t get the drill of these drama about police & smart criminal who are able to pull off big crimes which you can never see any crimes from the drama itself ever be replicated in real life. It’s just like watching Dr. Drakon from Kim Possible building a super mass death ray to blow up the earth. Preposterous!!
The first episode quickly hooked me up due to his ingenious way to catch criminal from observing their micro expression while using psychology to make them spill the beans. It is serious business if we can completely control our body language and micro expression. Somehow, his rogue ways to deal with things and unpredictable action reminds me of Doctor House himself.
Currently, I have an urge to learn the skills he have and keen on applying to my everyday life and see what I can observe from people around me but I certainly would not cultivate “Radical Honesty” because it’s not good while building relationship and diplomatic skills.
To those who are would-be manga artist and animators watching the series might help you into determinate crucial facial expressions of a kawaii bishoujo face. In other words, Facial Action Coding System or shorts for FACS for animator and psychology alike to systematically categorize the physical expression of emotions.
