Earth Hour 2010

It’s that time again for us to switch off all of our lights for an hour so that we help to cut down on carbon emission. Does it? Really? How much does it will cut down? Let just say an iota of it only!!

I have participated Earth Hour last year near in my neighborhood. The whole Earth Hour does not make sense to me but I can’t say no since my friend keep pestering me to join them to celebrate earth hour with them in a local university. After listening to the bad music played by university student & lousy jokes quickly dried up I left with a broken heart to think why the heck I joined them?

Back to topic! An hour of switching off the lights & power would not cut down enough carbon emission to save the earth but to create awareness. Another thing that keep me ranting here is that this “awareness” they are promoting have already made known to us ever since before the earth hour event have take place due to the gruesome heat at noon till the evening we all felt and it is not even cold at night, I can wear an underwear to sleep with my fan set to max pointing towards me.

Sure, it will give the people a feel good feeling about them going green but its not in reality. Sorry! Locally, all i can see is kids & even young adult using this as an excuse to lay around or to join any dimmed lighted parties. *Face Palm*

George Carlin is a good comedian with his witty jokes. It’s too bad he had meet his demise before I have the chance to meet this great man or attend his show. The video might tell you one thing or two about our fragile earth.. lol!~
