Otacool 2 Review

I have been pushing this post around due to the few days of running around & getting documents ready for the official life in college next week. Orientation Week which is this week was hectic but fun and got to meet some fellow gamer. Still can’t find any real supporter of Japanese cultures yet. So, here’s the review of the book.

Gonna love those professional cosplayer from all around the world with such detailed costume while we usually can observe from events & convention that bad ones tend to linger around and good ones are rare gems to find. What I want to say is to be proud of what you have done to your costume & don’t just put half-ass effort into your work.

I’m no cosplayer but I have an eye to separate them. This is by no means an in-depth review but Gordonator will give every last bit of juicy information you want.

As a personal opinion the Japanese-to-English translation is a bit rigid at times. I think a better translator is needed or else fans will start to have funny faces when they read through it. On another hand, the color & design is a problem as well because certain words are cover over or hard read base on colors that look similar, it could be just me.

It would be great if Otacool 3 implement these changes.

This is a QR code that will show a hidden content if you take a picture with your iPhone or any Japanese Keitai. They are popular in the Japanese societies but not in other parts of the world. The usual function is to get coupons, review hidden material, downloading files or just to get some naughty stuffs.

The price is reasonable for the content considering all the pages are fully colored and not black & white. I actually got a 20% discount off the book since it’s a promotion time for Kinokuniya while buying another book.
