How To Batch Download From Chan Sites

It’s tiresome to right-click and save on every image you find interesting on chan (Image channel) & galleries sites for that matter. Want a better solution? Well, I found one that works wonders.

Every now and then we are able to find some really talented artist artworks showcasing on these image sites but for one’s to quickly get everything downloaded is a hectic job indeed as it repetitive and mundane at the same time. Yes, I have try other solutions such as Bulk Image Downloader and picaloader but the problem arises when you want a fast one click solution when there isn’t any.

Thanks to cybormatt who created this nifty little plugin – Imagehost Grabber – that run off firefox to do all those mundane downloading task for you. It helps me a lots with the downloading on sites such as chan.sankakucomplex.com & danbooru.donmai.us . By the way, it can suck the forum dry and works well with other galleries sites as well.

Extras

If you download from chan.sankakucomplex.com like me then, of course, you would want to have the original image rather than the preview. As a note, resolution which go over 1000px will be resize as a preview. So, in order to get the original image we need to change some codes and that’s pretty much it. Although, the preview image is just nice and file size is kept to a minimum to save space it can’t be compare to its counterpart.

1] Open “Host File Editor”

2] Select “Pick Host File”

3] Click here to download the host file needed for downloading the original files.  After that, open “SankakuComChan-Host file”.

4] You are good to go!

Now, try downloading right now to see it for yourself. However, there’s a catch! That you must load the ‘host file’ for every session on your firefox to download the original image. My guess would be most you who view this post have a 24 hour running PC as do I. Furthermore,  I did try to edit the entry there already listed but so far no luck at all. Before I forget the codes are written by Sapo84 on this thread. Give him a hand.. shall we?

Updates!!

The latest installment does not need you to do the bothersome tasks as upon. Everything have been fixed as far as I know. So, a click on “Get all pics on page” is only necessary to download.
