End of High School of the Dead
It has been a zombie gore fest and ecchi haven for those who love it. Sadly, though the anime have stop at the first arc of the whole story while the manga is not even finish as they are still wondering around in search for their parents.
The anime does appeal to me when it first aired; Let’s not forget about the trailer too that makes me wonder what kind of story this would spur on to the overcrowded genre of our time. As a matter of fact, zombies in anime are as rare as the Master Chief would take off his helmet to face his fans. That’s how I would put it.
The extra bouncy boobies and panties exposure in the anime are, indeed golden. While it might comes in at the worse of times. Hey, it’s always sexier when you’re facing adversity while showing them off. And that’s what I learnt from it and another note that I need to add to my book.
The presentation in episode one was captivating and the use of angle-shots from different places makes everything more exciting. Until to the very last episode the quality of the animation is till capped on par, never over or below what the animator set out to do. As for character I like to hate is, as you would’ve guessed, Rei Miyamoto. This particular character bitch about almost anything within her radius. Sometimes I felt like I must slap some sense into that girl and maybe wake her up a bit from all the carnage.
The OP and ED aside, I think “HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD” sung by Kisida Kyodan and The Akebosi Rockets are so rocking awesome for the OP part. Even the album looks so delicious; the smart and tsundere “Saya Takagi” is frozen from the shock of the outbreak while eating roasted zombie flesh, I presume? While depicting a blank stare looking straight forward at the same time holding a fork just nicely outside of her bloody mouth. On the other hand, I can’t says much for the 12 tracks of ED specially carved by Maon Kurosaki as her singing is just average to my taste.
The ending is nothing special since the story haven’t really ended yet but Takagi parents are indeed epic in my book; trying to buy them some time just so they can escape. Seriously, both of them look as fearless and bad-ass that some might think they have booked a date with Hades. Judging from the last scene a second season might have already gotten the green light. If you are wondering about the next arc of the story it’ll be revolving inside of the shopping mall.
Try reading the manga; it’s much faster to get your weekly fix. Chapter 27 is the latest in the series currently.
