I have long awaited for a smartphone to become my very own potable device to bring about for my studies and work. My old handphone, which is a Samsung L760 whom my dad have given me two years ago have served me well. It’s time for a change as my needs and wants differ back from what I wanted was a phone that can call and sends messages into a phone that works more like a mini computer.

Initially, I have two other phones in mind. One is the Motorola Defy and another is Samsung Galaxy Ace. I did try to weight both of them then a former comes in to recommend me to grab an X10 for my budget which is around 1k only. The specs for the smartphone looks really good to me and should be sufficient to follow me through my college years. It’s really handy to ask around for recommendation on forum like Lowyat.net which had helped me a lot. Thanks guys!

Well, it’s a black Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 wrapped around with a dandy glossy outlook. The main motive is always how I can have an easy access to my documents and being a mobile entertainment center. Another big contributing factor to choosing it is because of its operating system. Android! Woohoo!! These days Android is taking up the market shares on mobile phones by the leapt. It’s gonna be big in the coming years!

Oh, I choose black color instead of the usual white is because it won’t look dirty and most of the time it will be resting within its pouch. So, black would be a nice fit and did you realize that there is a price difference for both of the color? The white one cost more depending on the seller and black one cost less. It’s practically the same thing but the only difference are the colors only. What a way to rip people off.

I not sure about you but I got a friends who’s quite a Symbian fan of sort that always speak well of it. To me, it’s just another OS. They will always have their own pros and cons in very light you choose to see it. I haven’t tried a Symbian phone yet but I’m making a jump for the future into Android. I know that it’s using a 2.1 Eclair but X10 users are in luck this year as Sony Ericsson’s will be releasing the long awaited update (Gingerbread 2.3.3) around summer time.
