Voila! I present you a newly selected theme of mine which I have implemented nicely on my blog. It’s called the “Structure Theme”. I like the looks of the cleanliness that is almost devoid of background noise. On another note, the focus on typography and minimalistic design is well suited on the overall theme. Frankly, it’s THE theme that I have been searching. I think my quest have just ended as this will become a permanent one for a very long time. Unless… I got an even better one that tickers my interest.
New
Usually minimalist web design comes with plain a very plain design of which their main purpose is to serve the writer a clean place to organize their every thought while giving user a clean outlook to read. For my case, I’m in search for a theme that is minimalist enough that still contains a few design elements.
I especially love the magazine layout design. The theme interest me because of its unusual placement of content with a big picture as a featured content while the usual entries will all be below it. From what I know the theme also comes with what the web design community calls an F-layout with multiple breakers to capture your attention. As an example, go to any popular news site and observe the placing of contents and page breakers intended to distract your focus and capture your attention again.
Just for the sake of argument.

The changes I done on the new theme are some tweaking the CSS files, widgets organizing, plug-ins editing and logo redesigning. Looks like a pretty simple tasks but it takes time to track down the correct id and class to change their values. Thanks to firebug (a plugin to check web elements) I got everything done in no time. Other things are all automated thus making the change much easier. I found out that learning CSS can really be a benefit as the looks of your site is control through that tiny file.
It also work great on your mobile phone too as I have tested it out on my S.E.X. 10.
The old one
Remember my last theme? The OnlyWP? I considered an O.K. but it does not really capture what I wanted. I tweaked well until it became desired layout. It was a problematic theme that had caused me quite some pulling of my hair action which I rarely do. Luckily, I didn’t go bald on that one. More history.
Even one of my friend jumps into the boat of creating his site with this particular theme. He was interested to have a community blog but when he calculates on the cost and time needed to grow a site he’s quickly retracted his idea. I think 6 months to one year without recognition and small ads support can really bring anyone down to their knees unless you’re really dedicated. All this while he almost completed his customization of the theme and learned tons on web related knowledge (He’s still new). Poor thing.
Things to ponder about
Seeing all the people who have their own mascots have really pushed me to — maybe develop one for my burogu. It’s still not too late to jump on the bandwagon, I think. One of the most noticeable examples would be Danny Choo from a blog to become a brand with cute Mirai by his sides.
I was thinking something like Kuroneko but with a cute maid outfit for her would really suit my image xD
