Technologies today seems to have been catching up with sci-fi ideals as of late like this awesome cyber-attack alert system developed NICT. It can render a beautiful model of the networks that are under monitor.
They named it “Daedalus” and it definitely have a nice sound to it for such an implementation of concept. Anime fans will find it familiar especially who loves to watch sci-fi genre and we can especially see it one of my all time favorite series: Ghost in the Shell (GiTS). This is where Major accompanied by a few Tachikoma (AI) to hack into systems and networks in order to steal information or investigate. Thrill yet awesome series if you love sci-fi like me.
Back to the topic. The blue sphere you see is represented as the Internet while the blue circles are networks that are under observation in Japan. All those 警 you saw on the video indicate alerts of breaching, malware spreading and causes. According to them this system will be transferred to clwit. Moreover, “NICT also provides the system free of charge to educational institutions where nicter sensors can be installed”. The last line got me, what if my college apply for such a cool system I would be the first one to apply and join the development team.
Found some cool hack scenes from GiTS
On another note, do you still remember this one? It was in Japan only ![]()
So, the future looks great. Wait until the Japanese figure out a way for us to transfer everything we have into a cybernetic brain.
